A baixa movimentação no lugar prejudica ainda comerciantes, além de favorecer a assaltos que têm sido constantes

Há cerca de dois meses, a Rua Guilherme Rocha, no trecho entre a Rua Princesa Isabel e Tereza Cristina, no Centro, foi interditada para dar início a uma obra na galeria de esgoto. Cinco grandes buracos foram abertos no asfalto, ao longo da via e, depois disso, nada mais foi feito. A falta de movimentação no local prejudica comerciantes e os assaltos deixam a população com medo.
Quem se aproxima desse trecho da via pensa percebe que movimento é muito pequeno. Apenas ciclistas e pedestres passam pelo local. Além disso, os cinco buracos chamam atenção devido ao tamanho, quantidade e porque os pedaços de asfalto retirados continuam ao lado das crateras. Como por debaixo do asfalto passa uma galeria de esgoto sujo, a água que passa pelo local se acumula nos buracos.
Trabalhadores
Segundo o diretor do Centro de Educação de Jovens e Adultos (Ceja), Ivan Rodrigues, o início das obras foi recebido com alegria, pois sempre que chove a Rua fica alagada, e essa seria a solução dos problemas. "Os trabalhadores interditaram a via, abriram os buracos e depois desapareceram. Estamos convivendo com vários problemas desde que isso aconteceu", disse.
Rodrigues afirmou que estão acontecendo assaltos constantemente. O comércio local fechou as portas, ratos e baratas começaram a aparecer e o número de pessoas com dengue cresceu bastante. "Somente uma das nossas funcionárias já foi assaltada duas vezes, outra pegou dengue e uma pessoa foi assassinada aqui perto. Parece que a Prefeitura se esqueceu que precisa terminar essa obra", ressaltou.
Ele comentou que já acionou a Policia Militar, mas como eles não podem ficar de prontidão no local, nada pode ser feito. Além disso, a comunidade procurou a ouvidoria da Prefeitura de Fortaleza e também a Secretaria Executiva Regional do Centro de Fortaleza (Sercefor), mas nada foi resolvido até agora.
De acordo com o diretor, dos 1.500 alunos que estudam na instituição, apenas 800 estão comparecendo às aulas após a interdição. Isso acontece porque as linhas de ônibus não passam mais pelo local, e o medo de assaltos é grande.
Devido à interdição da Rua Guilherme Rocha, o estudante Lourenço Neto, tem problemas para conseguir estacionar o carro. Ele disse que o trânsito próximo ao local piorou desde. "Por causa dos buracos, não temos mais onde estacionar por aqui. Se formos parar o veículo muito longe existe o perigo de assalto".
Da loja onde trabalha, o técnico em refrigeração, Ariel Fonteles, presenciou quatro assaltos somente na manhã de ontem. "Por aqui, a população é assaltada a todo o momento. Os ladrões usam facas e armas de fogo. Quem trabalha por aqui está com muito medo", revelou.
Ele acredita que o movimento na loja tenha diminuído cerca de 80%, principalmente porque nenhum veículo passa pelo local e também devido à falta de segurança. "Durante a noite, aqui fica deserto. Ninguém tem coragem de passar".
Vendas
De acordo com o vendedor de frutas, Geovanildo Paulino Bezerra, as suas vendas caíram 100%, pois ele vendia mais para as pessoas que esperavam no ponto de ônibus da Rua. Agora, durante todo o dia, poucas pessoas passam pelo local. "Eu vivo dessa venda de frutas há 32 anos e, agora, estou sendo muito prejudicado. Nesse período em que a obra está parada já perdi cerca de R$ 800, pois toda vez que eu compro as frutas, tenho que jogar fora porque ninguém está comprando. Às vezes, penso em tentar fechar esses buracos sozinho", reclamou Bezerra.
Até o fechamento desta edição a assessoria de imprensa da Sercefor não atendeu as ligações para esclarecer o motivo da paralisação e quando será retomada.
A assessoria de imprensa da Companhia de Água e Esgoto do Ceará (Cagece) informou que essa é uma galeria de águas pluviais e, por isso, não é uma obra de sua competência.
