Descaso: escolinhas de trânsito estão fechadas e abandonadas há um ano

As duas escolinhas de trânsito que deveriam ser mantidas pela AMC estão inoperantes. A situada no Parque Adahil Barreto está fechada desde janeiro do ano passado. A sensação que se tem é de total abandono dos espaços

Uma das ferramentas utilizadas para tornar os futuros motoristas mais conscientes das leis de trânsito é educar desde cedo as crianças. Para isso, foram criadas escolinhas de trânsito. A do Departamento Estadual de Trânsito (Detran-CE) funciona na sede do órgão, na Maraponga, e recebe diariamente cerca de 100 crianças de escolas públicas e privadas, agendadas previamente.

As duas escolinhas mantidas pela Autarquia Municipal de Trânsito, Serviços Públicos e de Cidadania (AMC), porém, estão inoperantes. A que fica no Parque Adahil Barreto teve de ser fechada em janeiro do ano passado porque precisava de uma reforma geral. Já a do bairro José Walter está provisoriamente cedida ao Gonzaguinha, conforme explicou Arcelino Lima, chefe do Núcleo de Trânsito da AMC.

O descaso com o equipamento do Adahil Barreto fica claro quando se observa a estrutura precária do imóvel, quase sem pintura e com o mato tomando conta de tudo. Para quem passa, a sensação que se tem é de abandono, o que deixa a população indignada. O comerciante Alex Osterno, 27, questiona para onde vai o dinheiro arrecadado com multas pela AMC.

“Não vejo nada de melhorias, só muito abuso. O sentimento é de revolta. Eles deveriam promover mais campanhas educativas na mídia e no corpo a corpo”.

O taxista Osmildo Mendes, 50, que trabalha na Praça do Ferreira, se queixa da perseguição à categoria. Segundo afirma, o tratamento dados pelos agentes de trânsito aos taxistas e aos motoristas de veículos particulares é bem diferente. Reclama ainda que não vê nenhum retorno do dinheiro arrecadado pela AMC com as multas. “Muitos cruzamentos estão engarrafados, mas nós não vemos nenhum agente organizando o trânsito, só multando”, comenta.

Exemplo de cruzamento que merecia agentes organizando o trânsito é a saída do Terminal do Papicu, principalmente no horário de pico, quando os ônibus que vêm pela Avenida Engenheiro Santana Júnior para dobrar na Avenida Santos Dumont não conseguem entrar e geram congestionamento. O mesmo ocorre no Terminal da Parangaba.

O agente de trânsito da AMC Eriston Lima Ferreira ressalta que são várias as situações, em diversos locais da Cidade, que caberia o trabalho de controle de tráfego, que, segundo afirma, lamentavelmente não existe mais. “O dinheiro arrecadado deveria ser revertido em melhorias para o trânsito, porque, com vias em bom estado e bem sinalizadas, teremos menos acidentes”. Ferreira afirma que uma das sinalizações mais importantes é a horizontal, pois nem sempre o motorista visualiza as placas.

Arcelino Lima destaca que o papel do agente de trânsito é o de instruir a população para que respeite a legislação e, quando necessário, desenvolver trabalhos operacionais em trechos que sofrem desvio ou que estão com os semáforos apagados, além de fiscalizar.

“A população deveria parar de se queixar das multas e cumprir as leis de trânsito. Se todos respeitassem, não teríamos multas. Não podemos estar em todo lugar, por isso existem mais infrações do que multas”, declara.
